A Taste for Good Design.

Luxury kitchen featuring Monogram Minimalist appliances, dark wood cabinetry, natural stone, and a statement island.

Where beautiful materials, thoughtful details, and everyday living come together.

There's a reason everyone ends up in the kitchen. It's where conversations happen, meals come together, and friends and family gather, especially around the holidays.

And when it comes to building a home, it's one of the spaces where thoughtful design can make the biggest difference.

From the appliances you choose to the way your kitchen functions every day, the details matter. This month, I'm sharing a kitchen design direction I'm especially excited about, a few things worth considering when building a custom home, and a Thanksgiving recipe with a story that's too good not to share.

Plus, a look at the Omaha real estate market as we head toward 2027.

KITCHEN DESIGN: LESS IS MAKING A BIGGER STATEMENT

There's a shift happening in kitchen design, and I'm here for it.

Clean lines, warm wood tones, rich cabinetry, natural stone, and appliances that complement the architecture rather than compete with it. There's a beautiful balance happening between organic materials and modern innovation.

One collection I'm especially loving is the Monogram Minimalist Collection from GE Appliances. In fact, I'm planning to incorporate it into an upcoming high-end spec home I'm working on.

What draws me to this collection is how much thought goes into what you don't see. Flush installation, minimal hardware, expansive glass, and technology designed to make everyday cooking feel effortless.

And there's some serious innovation behind that beautiful exterior. Select Monogram wall ovens offer smart cooking features, precision cooking modes, and connected controls. It's the kind of technology that makes a kitchen more functional without sacrificing the design.

I'm also loving the use of natural wood grain, textured stone, warm neutrals, and beautifully understated finishes. These materials bring depth and character to a space, especially when paired with sleek, integrated appliances.

For me, that's where luxury home design is headed. Thoughtful details, natural materials, and performance that lives up to the space.

A great kitchen doesn't need to demand attention to make an impression.

NEW CONSTRUCTION SPOTLIGHT: WOODLAND HOMES

A great example of thoughtful new construction is Woodland Homes' newest Palermo ranch in Aspen Creek North, conveniently located near the Aspen Creek and Gretna East campuses.

This move-in-ready home offers 3,624 finished square feet, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a 3-car garage.

It's a great opportunity to explore a finished home, see the builder's craftsmanship firsthand, and get inspired for your own building plans.

Jenn's Spicy Sausage & Apple Stuffing

A THANKSGIVING FAVORITE, COURTESY OF A BAR NAPKIN

About 15 years ago, I was sitting at a bar the night before Thanksgiving when I struck up a conversation with the woman next to me. We got to talking about holiday food, and she shared her spicy sausage and apple stuffing recipe.

She wrote it on a bar napkin.

Fifteen years later, it's still a family favorite! A little spicy, a little sweet, and always part of our Thanksgiving table.

OMAHA REAL ESTATE: LOOKING AHEAD TO 2027

The holidays may slow the pace of real estate, but they don't stop the opportunities.

As we head into 2027, here's what I'm watching in the Omaha market.

For buyers: Less seasonal competition may create opportunities, especially if you're prepared to move when the right home comes along.

For sellers: Pricing and presentation matter. A strong strategy tailored to your neighborhood can make all the difference.

For new construction: If building is on your radar for 2027, now is a great time to explore available lots, builders, floor plans, and construction timelines.

I work closely with Woodland Homes, Birchwood Homes, Pine Crest Homes, and Richland Homes. Each offers different opportunities when it comes to customization, neighborhoods, and budgets. Knowing those differences before you commit is important.

Omaha Market Snapshot

Market numbers tell part of the story. Understanding what they mean for your specific home, neighborhood, or building plans is where experience matters.

Until Next Month!

Here's to beautiful spaces, thoughtful design, and gathering around the table with the people you love. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving! And if buying, selling, or building is on your mind for 2027, I'd love to help you explore what's possible.
